Lindsey and I trying to get it right!!!!!

This weekend was absolutely one of the best times.  There was laughter, friendship, food, deep talk and of course a little (not a lot of wire work).  I spent the weekend with my friend Lindsey who is just an amazing person and not only did I feel welcome there but I felt like I had known her forever!  Her daughter Adams passed away this last November from Leukemia, she was 23 years old.  I had the blessing of being able to listen to stories about Adams and see pictures of her and I felt honored to hear such things.  On my way home I thought of this:

   “Just like that, the blinders are off and real life exposes itself. 

It could be something incredibly joyful or unbearably painful.

for that time, it is life changing, the emotion is real, more real

than most times in our lives. 

But there is one thing that is constant and revealing during both

of them and that is “friendship”. 

Lindsey makes jewelry that is fabulous and she gave me a piece this weekend.  She uses copper and the little bead in the front (orange) is her signature.  It is the color for Leukemia awareness.  She is in the process of getting a memorial scholarship drawn up in her daughters name and when she has everything finalized I will post all of the information here on my blog so that my readers (feel free to share) can pledge their support.

Now, on to other news!  Lindsey and I also went to the Peabody estate that is being renovated in sections when they can raise money.  It is a wonderful place and such history is abound.  Portia, from the Gathering Place (i take classes there) had her wares (jewelry made from her beads) there.  She won Best In Show for her booth and it was great.  She is such a great and wonderful lady, and also I might add that she is such a multi tasker and Martha Stewart would be proud.  As for me, I cannot understand anyone being able to do what she does and get little sleep.  I will not go into all of it BUT you must know that we were all downstairs putting jewelry together and she jumps up and says “I will be back”, and she disappears, only to appear later with two big bowls of freshly made salsa!  Are you kidding me?  It was great salsa too I might add! Portia and her booth!!!

Later, Lindsey and Jan and of course myself (whenever there is food I am around) went to this fabulous place called Webers Grill and had a great dinner.  They grill everything on the original charcoal weber grills.  Yummmmmmy!!

I am not really going to say much about MOAB MAN but he is rather cool and Lindsey just loves him, I will wait for her to get her sight up and running and you might, just might see the return of (deep, drawn out voice) MOOOOOAAAAABBBB MAAAANNNN!!

 Finally, last night my daughter went to the Jonas brothers concert and had wonderful seats!  You really can hear the screaming girls from here, lol!  This is Anna, Joey and part of Andrea’s face!!

I will posting about my trip this week, i am working on beads today and the rest of the week for that matter.  Heck, the rest of my life would have been a better description, hee hee!  trying to do orders and I have picked up a new store today so i will let you all in on the trip as soon as i get a moment!!  talk soon

My daughter Anna and Shannon and Andrea decided to stay up all night and put makeup all over them selves and pose for all of these pictures.  they are really funny pics and they are really funny girls.  i love having them all around because afterall this is the hangout for everyone!!  although unbeknownst to me I awoken to girls that had not been to sleep yet at eight oclock in the morning and by then they were acting like animals.  shannon was walking around like a ostrich, anna was a koala bear, but more resembled a t rex!  andrea was a hippo, the most feared animal in the water.  i laughed and then said, off to bed with all of you.  they slept until two oclock and were fine.  so, here are a few of their pics, just for laughs

So there you have it, crazy girls doing what crazy girls do at night when they are bored or not asleep.  I have many pictures where these came from to blackmail them eventually, hee hee!!!  Just plain goofiness, i love it!

So, my trip to chicago is tomorrow and I will drive up and return on Sunday or Monday, I am playing it by ear.  I am sure we will have a great time.  My husband got back in town last night after sitting on the runway for 4 hours in washington D.C.!!  They were waiting for a storm although there was none in sight, they could not go back to the gate because they were all full, they were not even sure after sitting there for 3 hours that they would make it out because they have to reschedule after 10pm.  Soooo, there is Mark sitting there impatiently I am assuming, because afterall there is not one iota of patience in his body.  I can only imagine what he was going through, or should I say the person next to him, lol!!!  I have been in those situations with him many times and that man has no end to how many times he can huff out loud!  Kidding aside, I wonder how the people in first class were doing, were they comfortable?  This made me think of a funny skit on the Carol Burnett show, check it out (I warn you, it is long, but quite funny)!!!  Have a great weekend and pictures next week!

Ha, the camera is working!!!  I was able to save a couple of pics!  Not the best black and white pics and the best ones are missing (in my opinion), and a few of the pucini beads!!  I made a lot more that are different.  I cannot wait to finish up the pieces I am going to make with this color scheme.  Onto other news, I am awaiting my item from pittsburgh for the contest and when i get it i will post it.  Ok, there you have it.  One more thing, Estelle Getty, the lady from the Golden Girls, passed away!  She had some of the best one liners ever!!  God speed!

I am into making a charm bracelet to go with my new “pucini” pattern from Vera Bradley!!  If you have not seen it, go to Vera and look at it, it is yummy with its dark brown, tomato red, lime-yellow, ocher and a touch of cream and gray!  Fall is definately upon me and look for these beads to also be coming soon to Yelton’s and the Pleasantree.  I am sorry I do not have pics but I still have a camera problem so bear with me.  Oh, I am going to chicago this weekend so i will not post after tomorrow until the first of next week.  Remember, i took black and whites and a few colored beads to yelton’s yesterday and next week will be the pleasantree and so on….!  Hopefully I will have a cool bracelet to show you the first of the week, I made some beads to go on it for this trip!  I am really busy and heading downstairs.  This picture is a picture of gatlinburg in October of 06′, enjoy, this is the same red almost in the pattern.

I dropped off the beads today around noon but did not get any pictures up because my camera is not working and it is not the battery either.  I am frustrated, and it is not that old.  I really want to get an expensive one that i can take a picture of one dot up close if i want to without it being blurry.  Sorry no pics.  The Pleasantree called today and they have decided to change the way they display things and start ordering beads so there you have it.  Sometime next week, probably Thursday, there will be beads at Pleasantree as well!!!  In the meantime, I will be trying to figure out my camera problem.  Have a great evening!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all!!!  I am in a much better mood and coming out of the funk I was in, I will chalk it up to hormones!!!  Here is a few pictures of a couple of beads I have made (not cleaned yet)!  I have not figured out which beads are going to Bonnie yet!!!  I love the ones on my neck, but I also love the colors in the other set with teal and purple!  Yelton’s is getting their beads Saturday, I have just been a couple of days behind due to life in general!!!  I am in a complete rush now, trying to get beads done.  Hey, check out this rush!!!!!!!  This just makes me smile, I cannot help it, I could watch it ten times and still laugh!  have a great day!

I am having one of those days where I am in a funk, everyone is in my way and I do not really feel like communicating with other humans, let alone touching one of them, ugh!  It’s just that I have been tired and cranky (not in the outward sense, just lethargic)!  Then I found this video and it made me laugh but it also represents how I feel, I cannot even tell you how much I would not want to be in that pool!!  Oh well, the sun will rise tomorrow and my mood will eventually pass and I will again become my sunny annoying self that laughs at everything!!!  Well, I am off to bed, I also took a nap today!  I made some cool beads i think and pictures will be up tomorrow!  Look for black and whites to Yelton’s on Friday!!!!  Enjoy this video and thank the man above that you are not stuck in the middle of that pool, ha!!!!

Well, today is the 12th of July and we had some fun!  My husband is out of town and it is just us girls hanging out!  Mine and Anna’s birthday is today, shannons was the 6th and Amanda’s is monday the 14th!  My mother came and we all went out to eat and had a good time.  You know how when you say it is your birthday and you get a free dessert?  Well, when we walked in my mother said “It’s all four of their birthdays” and they just had this dumb look on their face because anyone in their right mind would not believe that it was all four of our birthdays!!!!!  So, i intervened and said “Well actually, it is only our (mine and anna’s) birthday and hers is two days from now and hers was last week”, and they smiled and said “oooohhhhhh”!!!  We still got big desserts and it did not cost us but it is just as well because we go there so much that the owner knows us so he came out and brought us all dessert!!!  Enjoy the pics.  Happy weekend!!!!

Anna is not very happy in this one, her friends were coming soon and she had to do her hhhhhaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrr!!!!!  Teenagers, thank goodness the one on the right will officially not be a teenager anymore on monday!!!  ha ha!!  Boo hoo, oh, i cannot figure out the emotions, hee hee!

a bead I made last night!!!

Where was this guy when my kids were babies, he is priceless!!!  I am busy making beads but i dropped some orders off at Yelton’s today and there will be a little bit of variety, but mostly black and white next week!!!  This is a busy weekend for me!  It is birthday time in our family and at midnight tonight I will be 42 and my daughter Anna will be 14!  Monday will be my oldest daughters birthday and she will be 20, ugh!  I watched the old videos of when they were small today and it made me cry!  Some of it was because they were so darn cute but most of it was because I miss them so much being young!  Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing them turn into strong and confident women, but I had forgotten so many of the little things that the videos brought back!  Do not ever wish away the years, I would take a week (only about a week) of the times when amanda was around 8 or 9 and anna was 2 to3!  Great times!  enjoy the video!

Here are a few pics of beads that were ordered!  The long bead is something I did with the silver color and ivory stringer (silver) and it turned out ok!  I would have loved for the blues to end up a turquoise a little bit more but I need to maybe adjust my temperature in the kiln!  Have a Happy Day!!!!!  More black and white to Yelton’s tomorrow, not many but a few!  One more thing, these beads have not been cleaned out yet so you can still see the bead release in them.  Oh, Bonnie Matthews has asked for teals and purples for her free beads and they will not be up until around the 15th or so!  I am off to get my first cup of coffee!!

Hanging out in the basement can be quite depressing, however, I have so much color in glass down there that it really does not matter how long I stay!  I crank my tunes, turn up my fans, and sing till my heart is content OR my family comes and yells at me to shut up!!  Oh well, getting in a rythm really helps to motivate me and balance myself and my beads.  I have a few orders to finish up and then some black and white beads for Yelton’s!  They will be delivered on Friday!  Have a great day!  I love that it is raining here because I do not feel like I am missing anything, I mean, I cannot be outsided pulling weeds, laying in the sun with my 70 sunscreen (what is the point), or taking a walk (yeah right)!!!  I guess I could be doing other things in the house but I would much rather sit in the basement and listen to my beautiful Mariah Carey voice and play with glass!!!  Hee hee!  enjoy, He obviously would much rather be outside, I just love him, he makes me smile!
