I absolutely love bright fun moments in life that make you laugh so hard you cry. So when I decided to make glass beads it was because of my love of color that I associated with “happy feelings”!

Well, I still do not have this camera thing down.  Ok, the story goes like this:  I went to best buy to learn how to use this camera, you know the one i got from my adoring husband in December?  Well, so i took it there to learn a few things but really came out more confused than i went in.  BUT, i did figure out that i should not use the macro setting without a macro lens because it puts the flash on and that is bad (according to them).  The only problem being that the lens it came with does not zoom in very far.  It is a better picture but not as good at zooming in without the macro lens.  I then went to a camera store yesterday and found out that i could spend 40 instead of 400-500 for individual lens filter set in +1, +2 and +4 and screw them together on the lens and that would bring me much closer.  Yay, i was excited.  So i take my pictures and i try and work with them on the canon professional image software that came with the camera.  OK, it is like photoshop in the sense that you have to understand everything if you want to use it, so long story short, here is a picture of a bead that does not look any different than my other camera.  I really wish you could see how pretty it really is.  It looks faded out and not to great in the picture.  Amanda (my oldest) is coming by to help me this weekend.  She is a professional at these things, but she loves Macs and i do not have one.  I really want one someday.  Today is a rainy day and I am getting ready to go watch American Idol!!!!!  talk soon

Hey Hey, Whatya Say?

Well, I have been somewhat busy with beads, AND I started a new book, the kind you cannot put down.  The funny thing is, i have not had time to NOT put it down so it is driving me nuts!!  I want to read!  I am really enjoying the outside, it has been so pretty here.  I also went to sleep last night listening to the rain outside with the window open.  Oh my gosh, the smell and the sound made me fall asleep like a little 8 week old puppy!!!  I was cold this morning but i slept the whole night snug as a bug!!  It is only 11 our time and I have already run my first cycle of beads, I think you all will love them.  They are much bigger, BUT they pack quite a punch just strung on a chain!!  These are MY type of beads, the kind that I love to wear (by themselves, big and chunky)!!!   I made one that looks like it has lucky charm marshmallows inside of it, ha!  I do not want to sell it, and that is rare!  I probably will but it turned out big and round!!!  Well, have a great day!!! I love this picture!!

You all have probably been wondering where i have been.  Well, to tell you the truth, I have been hibernating still and not feeling too creative.  However, it is almost spring and I am waking up slowly!!  I have been playing with a new glass that is frustrating me to no end.  It is completely different then soft glass, well um, it is hard glass to be precise!  It feels different when it melts, it takes longer, it is just frustrating.  I am trying to learn how to do pendants, off mandrel stuff!  I am not having much luck, or anything that I would want to show you at this point.  My goal is to have beautiful pendants that can be purchased and worn on just about any kind of necklace.  Also, if done correctly, the colors of the silver glasses do some really cool colors on beads.  By the way, sometime next week there will be a few new beads at the store.  They are going to be bright like the beads above with the heavy encasing and dots!!  There will be a few different though, so you can call them sometime in the middle of next week.  They look great with all of the spring/summer colors!!!  A big pop of color on your neck, i have been getting a lot of compliments on my cincy pepper volleyball bead (blue/orange)!!!  talk soon once i wake up completely!!!!  ZZZzzzzzzzz…..  Maybe i should go outside and clean my car out, well, it is a little cold, oh well, what the heck, it has to be cleaned.  Later Gators!!!

Peace!!march12-002resize.jpgA few not so great beads!!  But at least something to look at!!

Spring crocus’ and bright baubles!

crocus_vernus_da61.jpg

Oh my, the sun is shining again for myself, i am feeling a lot better and actually got down to torch yesterday.  Here is a picture two medium/large and two large/xtra large (depending on what you think is medium or large) heavily encased beads.  They are a bright spot in a crystal clear shell, ha!!  I do have to say, these are made on a smaller mandrel than the troll size.  This is how i am able to get them more round!  They fit on my change-a-bead with crystals as the picture shows!  As i have said in the past, it is very hard to get a rounder bead with the troll size, they end up more like a bagel or a torus shape (like troll beads) so if you are interested in a bigger and rounder bead with crystals, please let yelton’s know as i can make any color combo.  They are big and striking!!!!!

Well, so i have not torched but i will have something really neat to show you as soon as i am feeling better. I have been studying up on some different glass and really want to sink my teeth into it.  Although, i will still have new beads at the store in the middle of march.  stay tuned for that~~  This video is hysterical and something i would do, i guess that makes me a redneck!!  This is called a red neck carnival ride, and would love to have this in my back yard!! ha~
