FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Are glass beads durable or will they break?
The answer is simple – I kiln anneal my beads which simply means that the internal stresses of the glass are no longer there and that creates a much stronger piece of glass than a bead that has not been annealed. My creations are STILL glass and could break but it is rare, so just take care of them and all should be fine.
Why are they so expensive?
Creating beads of glass as well as other objects requires years of persistent dedication, study and practice. It also takes a lot of time to make each bead, from the fire, to the kiln, on to cleaning, silver work if there is any, and finally delivery. Most bead artists think of there beads as small, but fierce (my project runway word) pieces of one of a kind art! My hope is that each person who owns one of my beads will see the quality and love that is put into each piece.
Do you make custom beads?
This depends a lot on my schedule and what kind of work is requested. I am completely open to customers giving me color combos they would like to see so that I can happily try to accommodate them on my next delivery or through this website. I would say that I would much rather someone approach me and ask because it might be that I have time and feel like making a set of beads in pink and red for example. Email me for requests or call!!!! I love to talk~~
Will you work with jewelry designers?
I am completely open to this, as a matter of fact it excites me to see what a designer might do with my beads (I am not really into making the jewelry myself, but I have on occasion). I do mostly focal beads but I am quite willing to make sets of beads that go with my focals so that they can be made into a necklace or both, maybe even earrings. If anyone makes a piece of jewelry with my beads, please send me a pic and I will happily put it on my gallery page as well as link to designer, either email or website if they have one. I loooooovvvvveeee sharing!!!
Do you teach?
I do, call me if interested!!!! My goal is to travel and teach!
*If I have not answered your question or you have another question, please contact me, I would love hearing from you!
PEACE!
